Q: Do I need to submit my physical passport for an E-Visa? Yes. Although the final visa is a digital PDF, the Authorized Agent requires your original passport to verify your travel history and authenticity before submitting to the High Commission. It will be returned to you once the application is processed.

Q: What is the "Matte Finish" photo rule? Singapore rejects photos with any glossy or reflective surface. The requirement is 35mm x 45mm, white background, matte (non-reflective) finish. Explicitly tell your photographer: "I need a matte finish for a Singapore visa." This is the most common avoidable rejection reason.

Q: What is the minimum bank balance required? ICA does not publish an official minimum, but a closing balance of ₹80,000+ per person with steady income is recommended. A balance of ₹80,000 with consistent salary credits is stronger than ₹1,50,000 deposited suddenly with no explanation. ICA evaluates your overall financial stability, not just one number.

Q: Can I extend my stay once I am in Singapore? It's difficult but possible. You typically receive a 30-day Short Term Visit Pass (STVP) upon entry. Extensions must be applied for via the ICA e-Service at least 7 days before your pass expires. Extensions are discretionary and usually require a local Singaporean sponsor/PR.

Q: I have a layover in Singapore. Do I need a visa? It depends on your airline. If you have a valid visa for USA, UK, Canada, Australia, Japan, Germany, Switzerland, or New Zealand, you may qualify for the 96-Hour Visa Free Transit Facility (VFTF) — no visa needed. However, if you're flying budget airlines (like IndiGo to Scoot) where you collect bags and re-check in, you must have a valid visa to clear immigration.

Q: How long does the visa processing take? 3-5 working days is standard. During peak holidays (May/June and December), it can take up to 18-20 days. We strictly advise applying 30-35 days before your travel date.

Q: What are the most common rejection reasons? Inconsistent documents (salary mismatch between bank statement and salary slip), glossy photos, weak financials, Form 14A details not matching passport, and applicants with no strong ties to India (young, unmarried, recently resigned). We verify all of these before submission.
