How we handle your information

Privacy policy

This site sets no cookies and carries no advertising trackers. It collects what you type into a form and send us, and this page says where that goes, who reads it, how long it stays, and how to have it removed.

What we collect

Nothing is gathered in the background. Information reaches us when you send it, through one of the two forms on this site, and in two smaller ways described at the end of this section.

The enquiry form

Your name and phone number, which the form requires, and your email address and message, which it does not. It also records which page you were on when you wrote, so that whoever picks the enquiry up knows what you had been reading. Nothing else about you is attached to it.

The CRS calculator

The calculator does its arithmetic in your browser. While you are filling it in, your answers sit in your browser's session storage, which your browser discards when you close the tab, and they are sent nowhere. They reach us only if you press save at the end. What we then keep is the profile you entered (age, marital status, education, language test scores, Canadian and foreign work experience, whether you hold a provincial nomination or have a sibling in Canada), the score that profile produces, and the name and phone number or email you give with it. You get a reference code so that we can find the result when you call about it.

Your IP address

Both forms count how many submissions arrive from one internet connection in an hour and refuse the ones past the cap, which is what stops a script filling the CRM with invented names overnight. The counter holds the address for the length of that one hour window. It is not attached to your enquiry, and it is not used to work out who or where you are.

Page views

We count page views and the sites people arrive from, through Vercel Analytics. It sets no cookie and records no identifier, so we can see that a page was read four hundred times and cannot see that you were one of them.

Cookies, and why there is no banner

This site sets no cookies. There is no consent banner because there would be nothing to consent to.

There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, and no advertising tag of any kind. The fonts are served from this domain rather than from a font network, so opening a page here does not tell anybody else that you opened it.

The one thing this site puts into your browser is the CRS calculator's working state, and it goes into session storage rather than a cookie: your browser clears it when the tab closes, and it stays on your device unless you press save.

What we do with it

We read your enquiry, work out whether we are the right people for it, tell you what a consultation costs, and answer you on the channel you used. If you go on to retain us, that same record becomes the file your application is run from.

We do not sell enquiries, and we do not pass them to other agents, colleges, lenders or coaching centres. That is worth writing down rather than leaving to be assumed, because a sold lead is how somebody who asked one firm one question ends up taking calls from eleven.

Where it is stored, and who can read it

Your enquiry goes into our own CRM rather than into a third party's sales tool. The database behind it runs on Supabase, in their Singapore region, and this website runs on Vercel. Both are infrastructure: they hold the data, they are not given it to use.

Inside the firm, the people who can open an enquiry are the staff who work the files. When one arrives, the notification goes to those accounts and nowhere else.

Once you are a client, a stronger rule than ours applies. Section 28 of the Code of Professional Conduct that governs every RCIC requires a licensee to keep client information confidential indefinitely, and sets out the only grounds on which any of it may be disclosed: your own authorisation, a requirement of law, a court order or subpoena, a demand from the College, and a few others of that kind. The obligation does not end when your file does.

How long we keep it

An enquiry that never becomes a file is deleted 24 months after your last contact with us, and a saved calculator result goes with the enquiry it belongs to, on the same clock.

A client file is different, and the difference is not ours to choose. Section 7.2 of the College's Client File Management Regulation requires a client file to be kept in a secure and accessible location for at least six years after it is closed. We cannot delete your file inside that window even if you ask us to, and neither can any other licensed consultant.

The rate limit counter holds an internet address for the length of its one hour window and is joined to nothing else.

Asking for a copy, a correction or a deletion

Email hello@thevisatales.com and say what you want done. A copy of what we hold, a correction to it, or deletion are all fine, and none of them costs anything. Write from the email address or phone number you first contacted us on, or tell us enough that we can match you to the right record without guessing.

We answer within 30 days. The one request we will turn down is deleting a client file inside the six year window described above, and if that is your situation we will tell you so rather than quietly doing nothing.

India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023 is the law most of this sits under. Its rules were notified on 13 November 2025 and phase in over eighteen months. We would rather work to them now than start when the clock runs out.
