Overview

What is the Dubai visitor visa?

The short answer

Indian passport holders get the UAE’s 30-day visit visa entirely online, with no embassy visit and no biometrics. Through us it is ₹8,500 all-inclusive, usually in 7–10 working days, and it arrives as a PDF by email. It is issued by the UAE’s Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship (ICP).

You need a valid passport before you apply, so start with our passport guide.

  • A PAN card, to keep the payment compliant under India’s Liberalised Remittance Scheme

How it works

How does applying work?

Who does what, in order. Most of the work is ours; the fast part is yours.

  1. 1

Send your passport scans and photo on WhatsApp

Both passport pages and a compliant photo. We check the photo and the back page before anything is submitted, because those are the two things that silently sink these files.

  2. 2

We file with the UAE authorities

The application is lodged electronically with ICP. There is no interview, no biometrics and no embassy visit.

  3. 3

    Your e-visa arrives by email

A PDF visa, in about 7–10 working days on standard or 2–3 on express. Print it, or keep it on your phone for immigration.

What goes wrong

What actually sinks a Dubai file?

The patterns we see on real files, not a generic list. Each is where a file dies quietly, paired with what we do so yours does not.

The passport back-page requirement

The UAE now requires a scan of the passport’s address (back) page alongside the bio page. It is easy to miss because no other e-visa asks for it, and a file submitted without it is simply held until you supply it, turning a same-week visa into a delayed one.

We ask for both pages up front and check the back page is legible before we file, so the application is complete on the first submission.

Glasses in the photo means automatic rejection

The UAE’s system rejects photographs with spectacles, and it does so automatically, with no helpful explanation and just a rejected application. Glare, a tilted head or a busy background do the same.

We check the photograph against the UAE’s exact specification before submitting, and tell you to reshoot it rather than letting the system bounce your file.

A US or UK visa that is about to expire

Some travellers rely on a US, UK or Schengen visa for a UAE visa on arrival. If that visa is close to expiry when you land, the on-arrival route can be refused at the airport, which is the most expensive place to discover it.

Where the on-arrival route is a real risk, we advise applying for the pre-approved e-visa instead, so your entry does not hinge on an airport officer’s reading of a nearly-expired visa.

Who handles your file

Named, and accountable

For Dubai we act as consultants rather than as authorised representatives, because no equivalent licence exists to hold; the RCIC designation is Canadian. That does not lower the bar: your file is prepared and checked by Jeet Kacha, who runs our India operations, and the firm signs the verification rather than pointing at a licence that does not apply here.

Dubai: questions people actually ask

Do I need to visit an embassy or give biometrics for a Dubai visa?

A Dubai visit visa needs no embassy appointment and no biometrics from an Indian applicant. You send your documents digitally, the application is filed online with the UAE authorities, and the visa arrives as a PDF by email. You print it or carry it on your phone, and immigration reads it on arrival. This is why the Dubai visa is one of the few routes that asks nothing of your calendar: there is no day to take off work and no city to travel to. It also changes where the risk sits. Because no officer meets you, the file is judged entirely on what you submit, and a document that would be clarified in thirty seconds at a counter simply causes a rejection instead. Getting the paperwork right the first time matters more here, not less.

Why was my Dubai visa photo rejected?

Almost always because of the photograph itself rather than anything else in your file. The UAE system automatically declines photos with spectacles, glare, a tilted head, a coloured or busy background, or where both ears are not visible. It does not explain the rejection. It simply declines the application, which is why people assume something serious is wrong when the problem is a pair of glasses. A plain, front-facing photo on a light background, taken without glasses and with the head level, avoids the most common cause of a bounced file. It is worth taking the photograph specifically for this rather than reusing one from a passport or an office ID, because a picture that satisfied a different system three years ago tells you nothing about this one. We check the image before the file goes anywhere, since a resubmission costs more time than getting the photo right does.

Do I need a PAN card to apply for a Dubai visa from India?

A PAN card is needed in practice for a Dubai visa from India. The fee is paid in foreign currency, and under India's Liberalised Remittance Scheme a PAN card keeps that payment compliant and traceable. It is a small requirement that becomes a problem only when it is missing, and it goes missing at the worst possible moment: the payment stage, with the file otherwise ready and the trip already planned around it. So we ask for the PAN at the start rather than at the point of payment, alongside the passport and the photograph. If you do not have one, that is the thing to sort out before anything else in the application, because no amount of preparation elsewhere gets past it. Applicants who have never remitted money abroad before are the ones this usually catches, and it is worth knowing about a week early rather than an hour late.

Can I extend my stay in Dubai beyond 30 days?

Often, yes. A 30-day visit visa can usually be extended once from inside the UAE without leaving the country, and a 60-day visa is available from the outset if you already know you want longer. Which of the two is cheaper depends on your plans rather than on a rule, so it is worth deciding before you travel instead of scrambling to extend near the deadline. Extending under time pressure is where the cost turns against you, because a decision taken with four days left is not really a decision. Work out the realistic length of the trip first, including the days you would want if something went well, and buy the visa that covers it. If the honest answer is that you do not yet know, the 30-day visa with an extension in reserve is the more flexible position to be in.

How is the express Dubai visa different from the standard one?

It is the same 30-day single-entry visa, only faster. Standard processing runs about 7 to 10 working days. Express prioritises your file to 2 or 3 working days for a higher fee, and the visa you receive at the end is identical in every respect: same validity, same length of stay, same conditions. Nothing about the express route makes an approval more likely, which is the assumption worth correcting, because paying more does not buy a better outcome and never has. If your travel is more than two weeks away, standard is the sensible choice and the difference in fee is money kept. Express exists for genuine short-notice trips, the ones where a family event or a work requirement has landed with a fortnight's warning. We say which one your dates actually call for rather than defaulting to the more expensive answer.

Before you fly

The visa gets you to the airport. What clears customs with you is a separate set of rules, and the money one catches Indian travellers most often.
