Overview
What is the South Korea visitor visa?
The short answer
Indian passport holders need a visa for South Korea. There is no visa-free entry and no K-ETA route, because India is not on Korea’s K-ETA list, so the exemption that lets 22 other nationalities skip a visa does not apply. Korea splits India between three missions and you cannot choose between them: which one takes your file is decided by the state you currently live in, not by the state that issued your passport. Gujarat, Maharashtra, Goa, Madhya Pradesh and Telangana belong to the Consulate General in Mumbai, and a Gujarat applicant submits at the visa application centre in Ahmedabad. The government fee is ₹3,600 for a single entry with a stay of up to 90 days, revised on 1 August 2026, and the Mumbai Consulate decides a standard file in 10 working days.

What it costs
What does a South Korea visitor visa cost?
no of these costs are set by the government and three are ours. We list them separately rather than as one number that hides which is which.

Eligibility
Who can apply?
- You hold an ordinary Indian passport, valid for six months or more, and you are in India when the application is submitted.
- You currently live in Maharashtra, Gujarat, Goa, Madhya Pradesh, Telangana, Daman and Diu or Dadra and Nagar Haveli, which is the Mumbai Consulate’s jurisdiction, and you can prove that address.
- Your travel date falls inside the window the Consulate is currently accepting, which is not the same as being far enough ahead.
- The trip is tourism, a family visit or business. Employment needs a Confirmation of Visa Issuance obtained in Korea first.
- You can evidence your occupation and your income, which for a business owner means three years of personal returns rather than two.
- You have not been refused a Korean visa in the last three months, and you have not breached Korean immigration rules.

How it works
How does applying work?
Who does what, in order. Most of the work is ours; the fast part is yours.
- 1
We confirm which mission your file belongs to
- 2
We check where the intake window sits
- 3
You fill the portal form and we build the evidence around it
- 4
You submit in person at Ahmedabad
- 5
You collect the passport and print the visa
What goes wrong
What actually sinks a South Korea file?
The patterns we see on real files, not a generic list. Each is where a file dies quietly, paired with what we do so yours does not.
The jurisdiction trap
Korea splits India between three missions and you cannot pick one. A Gujarat resident’s file belongs to the Mumbai Consulate whatever their passport says, and a Delhi centre will not take it. People get this wrong because they assume the passport issuing office decides, or because an agent in another state offers to handle it from there. The nearest counter for Gujarat is Ahmedabad, not Mumbai and not Delhi, which is the opposite of what most people are told.
We check your residence evidence against the mission’s own accepted list before anything is prepared, and we file where you actually live.
Applying early, which is wrong here
Everywhere else, filing well ahead is the careful thing to do. Under the Mumbai Consulate it gets the file refused at the counter, because intake is capped by travel date and the cap moves week to week. On 7 September 2026 only travel up to 9 October was being accepted. Chennai runs the same idea as a fixed rule, refusing anything lodged more than 89 days before the travel date.
We check where the window sits the week before filing and time the submission to it, instead of working to a generic four to six week rule that does not apply to this route.
Paying for a Korean e-visa, which does not exist
Several sites imitate the Korea Visa Portal, take passport details and issue a convincing forgery. The Mumbai Consulate has named four of them and warns that the fakes closely resemble genuine visas. People find out at the airport, which is the worst possible place and the most expensive.
Nothing we prepare goes anywhere except a counter published by a Korean mission, and you see the receipt from that counter.
Reading Under Review as a pending decision
The Korea Visa Portal shows Under Review until you physically collect the passport. It means the visa has been approved. People read it as a decision still hanging, and some cancel flights over it. The reverse mistake is worse: collecting the passport, not checking the printed visa, and finding an error later. A mistake spotted after you leave the counter is corrected by a fresh application at the full fee.
We tell you what the status means before you see it, and we check the printed visa against your passport on the day you collect it.
Two years of returns when you needed three
The income tax requirement forks by what you do. A salaried applicant gives two years. A business owner gives three years of personal returns. The checklists say so plainly and the difference is easy to miss, because most other visas on this site ask everyone for the same thing. An incomplete file is refused at the counter, so this is a wasted trip rather than a query you get a chance to answer.
We build the occupation and financial set for whichever of the three kinds of applicant you are, and we check it against the counter’s checklist before you travel to Ahmedabad.

Who handles your file
Named, and accountable
For South Korea we act as consultants rather than as authorised representatives, because no equivalent licence exists to hold; the RCIC designation is Canadian. That does not lower the bar: your file is prepared and checked by Jeet Kacha, who runs our India operations, and the firm signs the verification rather than pointing at a licence that does not apply here.

South Korea: questions people actually ask
Do Indian citizens need a visa for South Korea?
Yes. Indian passport holders need a visa before travelling to South Korea, and there is no visa-free entry. India is also not eligible for K-ETA, so the electronic travel authorisation that lets 22 other nationalities skip a visa is not open to you. Korea’s Ministry of Justice extended that temporary exemption to 31 December 2026 and India is not on the list. The only exemption India holds is for diplomatic and official passports, under a bilateral agreement, which does nothing for an ordinary traveller. Any website offering to sell you a K-ETA or a Korean e-visa on an Indian passport is selling something that does not exist.
Where do I apply for a South Korea visa from Gujarat?
Gujarat falls under the Consulate General of the Republic of Korea in Mumbai, and the nearest counter is the visa application centre in Ahmedabad, at Shree Balaji Agora Mall on the Sardar Patel Ring Road in Motera. You can also submit at the Consulate’s own visa counter in Worli, Mumbai, where the visa hour is 09:30 to 11:30. What you cannot do is apply in Delhi, whatever your passport says, because jurisdiction runs on where you currently live and is proved with an Aadhaar card, a rental agreement, an employment certificate or a bonafide certificate. No appointment is needed at any Korea visa centre in India.
How much is the South Korea visa fee from India in 2026?
A single entry visa for a stay of up to 90 days costs ₹3,600, under fees revised on 1 August 2026 and applied from 3 August under the Mumbai Consulate. A stay of more than 90 days is ₹5,400, a double entry ₹6,300 and a multiple entry ₹8,100. On top of that the visa application centre charges its own fee per application, ₹1,000 at Ahmedabad, Mumbai, Pune, Goa and Hyderabad, and ₹1,600 at the centres under the Delhi and Chennai missions. The Mumbai Consulate takes the visa fee in cash only, and it is not refunded if the visa is refused or you withdraw the application.
How long does a South Korea visa take from India?
The Mumbai Consulate publishes 10 working days for a standard application, counted from the date of submission rather than from when you started preparing. Express is 3 working days but you cannot file it through the visa application centres, which leaves the Consulate’s own counter in Mumbai. The Delhi Embassy and its centres in Delhi and Kolkata have had express suspended since 22 June 2023, and the Chennai Consulate grants it case by case rather than on request. The larger constraint under the Mumbai Consulate is not speed but whether the counter will accept your file at all, because intake is currently capped by travel date.
Can Indians get a K-ETA for South Korea?
No. India is not on Korea’s K-ETA list, so Indian nationals must obtain a visa from a Korean diplomatic mission before travelling. Korea’s Ministry of Justice extended the temporary K-ETA exemption to 31 December 2026 for the nationalities that are eligible, and India is not among them. The Consulate General in Mumbai says plainly that it is not involved in K-ETA at all and that all Indian nationals must obtain a visa. The official site is k-eta.go.kr, and the Consulate warns that numerous websites claim to issue a K-ETA and charge large sums for it.
Is the South Korea visa a sticker in the passport?
No. Korean missions worldwide stopped issuing visa labels on 1 July 2020, so there is nothing to look for in the passport when you collect it. You still hand over the physical passport at the counter and it stays with the mission for the whole processing time, but the visa itself comes back as a Visa Grant Notice you print yourself. Go to visa.go.kr after collecting the passport, enter your passport number, name and date of birth, and print it. The visa is valid for entry for three months from the date of issue, and your period of stay is counted from the day you land rather than from the day it was issued.
What happens if my South Korea visa is refused?
The visa fee is not refunded on a refusal or a withdrawal. The Chennai Consulate publishes a rule that you may only reapply three months after the rejection date, and while the Mumbai and Delhi missions do not publish the same rule, a second attempt with nothing changed is not worth making. The decision rests entirely with the Korean mission and the visa application centre has no part in it. The most common avoidable cause is an incomplete file, which is refused at the counter rather than held, so the fix is usually in the preparation rather than in an appeal.
Can I get a multiple entry visa for South Korea from India?
Only if you already travel to Korea often. Korea’s frequent visitor guidelines set the bar at more than four visits to Korea within the past two years, or more than ten visits in total with at least one of them in the past two years. Applicants who have been fined more than five million Korean won, or deported or served a departure order for something like overstaying within the past three years, are excluded regardless. Under the Mumbai Consulate you must present yourself at the visa counter so eligibility can be checked there. A first-time visitor gets a single entry visa, so plan around that.
